FLIGHT OF THE VULTURE

FLIGHT OF THE VULTURE

Our next project is ‘Flight of the Vulture’ (FOTV) - a series of 10 expeditions around the world, to sites where vultures are in massive decline, and conservationists are going to extraordinary lengths to try to save them.

Loved in some cultures and loathed in others, but essential to healthy ecosystems, this is an exploration into the lives of some fascinating creatures, but why have they been misunderstood and mistreated in so many places around the world?
This expedition will allow you to be with us as we join the birds high in the sky, down at dinner, and investigate what happens when we push species like the vultures to the brink, with shocking cost to humans and human life. This will be a thrilling and inspiring adventure but also a stirring call to action on the biodiversity crisis, and how we can all help.

We will share this through media releases as well as a series of shows through 2 media partnerships with radio and global TV News broadcaster – details to be announced.

PARTNER WITH US

Be part of Flight of the Vulture and our 2030 Global Challenge

The project has multiple phases, that all offer opportunities for supporters looking to drive change on biodiversity, promote innovation and collaborations for nature, and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development goals:

High Profile expedition shared LIVE & Interactive via global media and social media campaign

FOTV will gather vital data on the threats faced by this iconic bird and what we can do to save them. We will create a unique platform from which to engage, educate and empower communities along the flyway and further afield, promoting a deeper understanding of the challenges to migratory birds, both within and beyond the conservation community.

Previous expeditions have generated 1,000 articles and over $30 million in media coverage.

Collaborations for change

Lack of perceived importance, public interest, or negative consequences are all common reasons behind inaction for nature. We will generate mass public interest and deeper awareness globally & collaborate with individuals and projects to identify where this interest and public support can have maximum impact in restoring vulture populations around the world.

The Film – Flight of the Vultures

We will collaborate to create an epic and moving film that will continue to drive change and awareness around the world.

Inspiring young People

Working alongside global partners we will be creating interactive, inspiring educational programmes both for online and in person use. These will be available for children and educators to empower them to make a difference in their communities. We will also be providing local conservationists with the tools, knowledge and equipment for them to teach in both rural and urban communities.

Global conventions and industry shift

The findings and stories from the expedition will be shared with global heads of state and industry leaders through a range of targeted events delivered in personal and virtually. These events will focus on mapping the challenges, the systems behind them, and together finding solutions that not only drive the impact we want but are also sustainable.

The ‘Flight of the Vulture’ project has the potential to inspire millions of people in vulture regions of the world and beyond, and we and many partners in the network are ready to collaborate on the project. As well as showcasing the plight of the vulture, this project will also help demonstrate the true costs of the biodiversity collapse. We therefore endorse the objectives of the Flight of the Vulture Project.
